What to do if the printed image fades on the UV printer?

1. Too low ink‑density setting

The UV printer image‑control software provides multiple ink‑output options such as 60%, 80% and 100%. Operators shall select the proper value. If you print an image requiring 100% ink density at 80%, the printed output will appear faded. Solution: Increase the ink‑density value.

2. Insufficient print PASS count

Color performance and print resolution vary with PASS settings. For small‑size substrates, higher PASS settings deliver sharp patterns with rich colors. Lower PASS values can be adopted for large‑format printing. Operators shall set PASS counts for different substrates based on practical experience.

3. Influence of printing substrates

Properties of substrates including transparency, glossiness and smoothness will affect final print results, leading to lighter or darker output. Apart from visual deviation, some substrates absorb UV ink while others cause ink dissolution. For instance, printing on standard acrylic only requires 80% ink density; excessive ink will result in overly dark images.
