The UV printhead is the core component of a UV printer. Neglecting its daily maintenance will lead to frequent printhead damage within a year, resulting in unnecessary financial losses for you.
LANQI shares three practical printhead maintenance tips for you:
- 1.Run a nozzle check test right after powering on the machine every day. The test helps you identify nozzle clogging issues in a timely manner.
- 2.After finishing daily printing work, residual UV ink remains inside the printhead. You need to moisturize the printhead and wipe off surface debris, which effectively prevents nozzle clogging.
- 3.Use original manufacturer UV ink. Ink selection is critical. Never cut corners by buying inferior cheap ink, as it will damage printheads and drastically shorten their service life.
How to Extend the Service Life of UV Printer Printheads? Why do some customers use the same printheads for 3 to 5 years, while yours need replacement every single year?
This usually stems from the seven improper operations below: - 1.Excessive force during manual ink pumping and printhead cleaning, or repeated continuous ink pumping, which causes perforation of the printhead.
- 2.Printing mirror-surface materials without applying anti-flash protection to the printhead.
- 3.Improper operations that trigger short circuits inside the printhead.
- 4.Failing to flush the entire ink circuit system before switching to a different type of ink.
- 5.Purchasing low-cost inferior ink and mixing different ink brands/models.
- 6.Cleaning printheads with substandard cleaning fluid.
- 7.Skipping sealed moisturizing treatment after use, leading to dust ingress and nozzle clogging.
